Artist Statement
As a child my favorite toys were Tinker toys Lincoln logs and an Erector set. The instructions I felt were merely suggestions. I loved taking things apart and building something new that I imagined in my head. I also liked to lay on the ground and watch the clouds morph into fantastic creatures. I was told to grow up and follow the rules (another suggestion). In past 50 plus years I have built mobile homes, ran a machine shop with my father, then returned to school and became a social worker for child protective and aging and adult services, and finally for the post office. After retiring I moved to Centralia with wife Dorinda. Today I indulge my inner child, repurposing and recycling vintage building materials, scrap wood, and discarded electronics. I guess I never really grew up. My creative goal is to make you smile. ( Oh I still like to look at clouds) Hope you enjoy my work.
