Artist Statement:
I took up woodturning in 2008 as a retirement hobby. I initially turned bowls, plates, and other small items. After a short time, I was introduced to the segmented construction technique and decided to try my hand at it. It was love at first try. I found the entire process challenging and fun. Creating shapes and patterns and turning them into pleasing three dimensional forms can be challenging. I draw my inspiration from the work of Malcolm Tibbetts and the late Ray Allen, two of the acknowledged masters of segmented wood turning and from the natural beauty of the Pacific Northwest.
